👉Explanation: Wisdom, benevolence, and bravery are essential virtues in Confucian thoughts, considered the keys to becoming a “perfect” personality.

The wise understand the truth and, therefore, are not perplexed.

The benevolent share compassion and love, and thus are free of anxieties.

The brave embrace courage and universality, and hence are fearless.

👉In other words: A person who does not understand the truth is ignorant, and is just like a perplexed alcoholic, knowingly accepting all the harm of alcoholism.

Sharing benevolence and compassion can make a person more magnanimous and free of anxiety. Acting otherwise will inflame one’s uneasiness.

A cowardly and submissive individual drives away the remaining bravery and courage in his soul, enslaved by fear and dread.

👉Therefore, “Wisdom, benevolence, and bravery” are the test of the soul for everyone. It is not easy to score high marks. How many points would you get? Guess what might be the score of Confucius.
